What will Yourslice be doing to monitor my website?

As the competition for even the most obscure keywords gets more and more intense, the importance of properly tracking the effectiveness of your search engine marketing campaign becomes even more amplified.

•  Revenue, profit and marginal profit per visitor

•  Average cost per click for ppc keywords*

•  Marginal profit per visitor after deduction of ppc costs*

•  Conversion rates for different search engines and listing types* (where advanced tracking installed)

•  Site uptime check

•  Backlink count

*For sites where pay per click included

For sites where branding and repeat visitors are a key issue:

•  Brand search % (how many people searched for the site by its own brand - e.g. people searching for Yourslice, rather than search engine optimisation)

•  Repeat visitor %

Quarterly:

•  Comparison between seo focused development costs and traffic gains

•  Comparison against LBW scenario projections

•  Revise Likely Best and Worst case scenario for the 12 months ahead

•  PFI (pay for inclusion) check

•  Comparison between top 10 referrals and top 30 target keywords

•  Re-check top 30 target keywords

Website metrics is not about checking your site each day to see how you rank for your target keyword, or to see how many unique visitors you have had. The purpose of website metrics is to gain an overall picture of how your site is performing, and to find the key niches where rapid improvements can be made.
